Here is the fifth Hex turtleneck, Epsilon.  ...and oh what a difficult birth this shirt was.   First off, I originally had the basic idea for the garment way back in 2001, but had no idea how I was going to actually make it.  The flared out effect you see on the sleeves was originally supposed to be more dramatic, and all over the garment, not just on the sleeves. Try as I may, I couldn't find a way to make this work.  I ultimately decided to compensate for this change of plans by making the rest of the shirt's structure rather elaborate, and make a fancy collar.

Anyway, the shirt itself took a record 12+ hours for me to make.  I had it all finished, but then realized I made it too small, so I installed a zipper on the back.  This didn't help, so I replaced the back with elastic fabric.  Still didn't help the problem... Sooo, I took the whole think apart, leaving only the sleeves, collar, and part of the chest & back, and started over on a larger base.  This was my first garment in 1/2 year, so I guess I'm a little out-of-practice.  It'll also help when I finally move over to using a sewing machine, instead of doing all my sewing by hand.

The shirt is based off of two turtlenecks (which I took apart), bed sheets, polyester, and plastic.  For the flare effect of the sleeves and the stiff collar, I lined the insides with stiff plastic.  Ultimately, although fraught with difficulty, I'm happy with the garment...
